Preparing for Performance

Happy Thursday everyone! We are so excited about our first big show of the year. The countdown is on to our Holiday show. As showtime approaches so do big feelings about getting on stage. If nerves are hitting you, this is your first show, or you just don't know where to start to prepare, you're in the write place. Here's our tips for preparing for showtime.

Know your stuff

To make your day go smoothly, make sure you know all the little details of the show. Make sure to check our showtime and what to wear chart. Make sure you are focused during these last couple of weeks at class, while practicing your routine and try to take a few moments outside of the studio to practice your dance as well. For parents of younger dancers, just talking about what will happen on the day of the show can make a big difference in your child's experience day of.

Back your bag

Get this out of the way well before show time. Make sure your costumes are organized and labelled, if you have multiple routines. Pack extra tights and hair elastics, any make up you might need for touch ups. Brings lots of water and snacks to keep you fueled and anything else you might need to keep you happy and calm on show day.

Get excited

Dancing on stage is one of the BEST parts of being a dancer. Despite it being nerve wracking, it is such an exciting thing to share your talents and passions with the people you love. On show day and the days leading up focus on the FUN! Channel your nervous energy into excitement. Pump up your team mates and when you get on stage enjoy the moment. Know that your teachers and your families are already so proud of the work you've done and seeing you on stage is just icing on the cake.

We cannot wait to see you all on December 18th. Enjoy the time leading up to the show and make sure you've grabbing your tickets if you haven't already. See you on stage!
